How the contest works:
Share with us your favorite cocktail recipe. Give us your best stuff. Experts from L'Auberge Casino & Hotel and The Advocate will select 6 finalists from all the recipes submitted. Then join us at L'Auberge for a Rooftop Tasting Even on May 17th from 6-8pm during which all 6 finalists will be sampled and voted on to determine the grand prize winner. The votes will be tabulated at the end of the evening and the winner will be announced. The winning cocktail will be featurd for one month at L'Auberge Baton Rouge!
Three easy ways to submit your cocktail recipe:
- Option 1: Go online to TheAdvocate.com/RecipeContest, click on the “Submission” tab and follow the provided instructions.
- Option 3: Mail your recipe, a photo of your cocktail (optional), your name, phone number, and email address to the following address:

Two ways to vote to help determine our winner:
- Option 1: Visit onsite at L'Auberge Baton Rouge between May 7th and May 16th to sample the 6 finalist cocktails. (A fee for the cocktail samples will apply.) You may vote once per day. It is not mandatory to sample the drinks to vote. If drinks are not sampled then voting is free.
- Option 1: A taste event will be held at L'Auberge's rooftop pool on Thursday, May 1th from 6-8pm during which you may vote for your favorite cocktail. All votes will be tabulated and the winner will be announced at the end of the evening. There will be a cover charge of $10 to attend the event. Cocktail samples will be free for this event.
Submitted cocktail recipes must comply with the following rules:
Entries must be standard cocktail size (1 drink).
Drinks will be made with the following
liquors: Rum - Captain Morgan or Bacardi, Vodka - Smirnoff, Bourbon -
Crown Royal, Gin - Tanqueray, Champagne - Zonin (prosecco), Segura
(cava), Tequila - Patron.
All drinks submitted are subject to being substituted with a Glazers brand of alcohol.
Picture submissions (optional) must be of cocktail only. No people or signage allowed in pictures.
Recipe entry can be an original creation of the competitor or a classic cocktail with your own unique twist.
Recipe entry should not infringe or violate any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, or other intellectual property, proprietary or contractual right of a third party
L’auberge reserves the right to substitute ingredients based on availability.
VERY IMPORTANT: Submitting an entry in this contest authorizes the sponsor, L’Auberge Casino & Hotel, to sell full cocktail versions of all drink recipes submitted without obtaining further permission and/or providing compensation to the contestant. Submission of the recipe and photo (optional) give THE ADVOCATE and the contest sponsor the non-exclusive right to use the contest submission for publicity, advertising, promotional, and other purposes without obtaining further permission and/or providing compensation. Uploading your recipe and photo (optional) constitutes acceptance of these terms.
PRIZES:
The winner of the contest will win one-night stay and dinner for two at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge.
Everyone who votes will be automatically entered into a random drawing to win $100 gift card to L’auberge’s Stadium Sports Bar & Grill
The winning cocktail will be featured for one-month at L’auberge Casino & Hotel
NOTE: ALL participants in the Cocktails At Sunset contest and tasting event must be age 21 or older.
GENERAL CONTEST LIMITATIONS
Entries should have no content communicating messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which The Advocate and contest sponsors wishes to associate. Entries must be socially acceptable and in good taste, as determined by The Advocate.
This includes the following limitations on entries:
No defamatory or libelous material or material which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person without their written consent.
No content or material that is illegal, contains nudity or is sexually explicit, or by law is obscene, profane or pornographic.
No content which is abusive or harassing towards any individual or group of individuals regarding race, sex, religion, creed, national origin, age, disability, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or any legally protected classification.
This includes, but is not limited to, epithets or slurs, threats, intimidations, or hostile acts.
Materials entered should have no misrepresentation or disparaging remarks about The Advocate, its products, the contest sponsors, or other people, products or companies.
No content which implies or portrays graphic violence, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons or any activity that may appear unsafe or dangerous.
Cannot depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law.
Cannot contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, without written permission.

You must be 21 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If The Advocate cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
The Advocate and L’auberge reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
The Advocate and L’auberge reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of The Advocate and L’auberge, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to The Advocate and L’auberge the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
The Advocate and L’auberge reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and/or The Advocate. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and The Advocate are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
The Advocate reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
